Not Crying is the lead single taken from The Beautiful Darkness‘ latest EP Pain To Purpose which was released on 13th February 2026
Nerys explains: “Not Crying is about remembering yourself instead of losing yourself in tears for someone who doesn’t care. The animation captures that shift — letting go, pulling your energy back, and choosing yourself.”
Born from shadows, Pain To Purpose is a raw exorcism of suffering turned into sound. Each track is carved from scars, carrying the weight of grief, defiance, and transformation. Gothic at its core, this EP is the ritual of reclaiming power from the ashes.
“Writing these songs was a spiritual process—every lyric was me facing my demons, breaking apart in order to rise. I had to walk through the fire of pain to uncover the purpose that was buried inside it. In that process, I found my voice—and with it, a new kind of power,” says – Nerys John
Across its journey, Pain To Purpose pulls you through the dark and into flickers of light, yet the final track lingers — poignant, haunting, a reminder that even in awakening, the shadows remain.
“Pain To Purpose is about alchemy — turning everything that broke me into something that frees me. It’s the sound of survival, transformation, and owning your truth, no matter how dark it gets., Nerys further states.
The E.P will be celebrated on Friday 6th March 2026 at Tower of Song in Birmingham, which will also include an opportunity to promote International Woman’s Day (8th March).
“This International Women’s Day at the Tower of Song is about celebrating women’s voices and coming together around songs that speak honestly about what we live through. I’m really excited to share the EP in that space and mark it in a way that feels meaningful.” – Nerys.
