Frakard are premiering the homemade lyric video to accompany their latest track Devil Comes in Colour which will was released on 13th October 2023. Watch the video exclusively below.
Speaking of the video, the band says:
“The inspiration behind the video pretty much links back to the reality we find ourselves in as a band in, we haven’t got a lot of money to spend on big fancy production, no big record label backing us.
“So we do it ourselves, all footage was filmed on our own smartphones set up on tripods, primarily of us at shows across the last year, but topped up with some intentional shots at one of our rehearsal sessions, then we pleaded one of our friends to edit it all together out of the kindness of his heart.
“It’s proper rough round the edges, there’s also a rawness to the (lack of) production, that we love and shows who we really are, or even where we are as a band currently.
The world and in particular the music industry is so caught up in consistently delivering high quality video content, with things like TikTok, we almost forget it always has and always should be just about the music.”
The track itself is thunderous, raw and full of emotion. The band state:
Devil Comes in Colour was the first song that Frakard ever wrote. Singer Ben and Guitarist Ben sat facing the open window of his flat, and it poured out of us. It means exactly what you think it does – it resides in a world of drugs, women and darkness. It sat dormant for years until we felt confident enough to revisit and perfect it. It is the 2nd in a series of 3 singles about the stages of a relationship, showcasing its rise and fall. It began with Come With Me? earlier this year and will culminate in 2024.”
FRAKARD are an alternative rock trio who all hail from Cardiff, who started making waves back in 2017 in the grassroots scene. The band released their first EP titled “Demos” in 2019, followed by their second EP “Another Happy Accident” in early 2022. The band went on to perform a surge of shows, supporting the likes of Mclusky, Himalayas and Strange Bones. Last November saw the band release the track ‘Slate’ which saw high praise from Planet Rock radio and BBC Wales and also reached airplay at 60 stations across the UK, Europe and US.
